She was predeceased by: her parents, Teodoro Melendrez and Alvina Melendrez (Hinojos); and her siblings, Adolfo Antonio Barela, Erma Marquez, Minnie Mitchell and Estella Vega.
She is survived by: her husband Mike Melendrez of Silver City, NM; her children, Michael Raymond Melendrez of Tucson, AZ, James Randolph Melendrez (Edna Chavez) of Las Cruces, NM., Maria Petra Arizaga (Gilbert Arizaga) of Silver City, NM and Frances Elizabeth Gonzales (Domingo) of Pasco, WA; and her sister Delfie Lucero. She is also survived by her sixteen grandchildren; her thirty-seven great-grandchildren; her five great-great-grandchildren; her numerous nieces and nephews.
