He was predeceased by: his parents, Dora Smith and Cecil Neal; his stepfather Bill Smith (Bill); and his children, Rod Neal, Dora and Sara Neal.

He is survived by: his cousin John; his wife Ivy Christine Woolf; his daughters, Valeri Wright and Ellen Neal-Eakin; his children-in-law, Betty Moore and Don Eakin; and his grandchildren, Eric Wright, Emily Grudier, Ethan Wright, Johanna Singleterry, Jeremy Neal, Jillian Barker, Jules Neal, Justin Neal, Jim Neal, Bryant Neal, Rylon Neal, Cara Channing Bennett, Laney Neal, Turner Neal, Natasha Lovato, Nicole Lovato, Drake Eakin and Garrett Eakin. He is also survived by 22 great grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter.

In 1957, Rod married the love of his life, Ivy Christine Woolf, and together they began to build the foundation of a farm life that would be filled with hard work, family, and love.
