It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Clara Ramirez of Las Cruces, New Mexico, born in Rincon, New Mexico, who passed away on October 2, 2023, at the age of 90, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Pilar Vasquez (Rivas) and Rafaela "Fela" Ruth Rivas (Galindo); and her son Larry. She is survived by: her children, Ted (Jeanene), Steve, Mary Audetat (Rudy), Vince (Darlene), Judy Long (David) and Ruth; her sisters, Nellie Chavez and Stella Armenta; her grandchildren, Jaime Ramirez, Amanda Norton (Trevor), Jeffrey Ramirez, Brian Ramirez (Sara), Rebecca Rodriguez (Daniel), Paul Ramirez, Nicholas Ramirez and David "D. J." Long (Ashlyn); her great grandchildren, Aaron, Gabriella Ramirez, Lucas Rodriguez, Aliza Jane, Damien Long, Hannah and Alexander Ramirez; her friend Josie Pena (Ruth); her daughters-in-law, Nanette and Nancy; her pet Chloe; her brother Joe "Sonny" Rivas; and her husband Vicente.
In lieu of flowers, Clara's family urges donations be made instead to Mesilla Valley Hospice, whose care and compassion was beyond incredible in Mom's final days.
