It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Rachel A. Valdez of La Villita, New Mexico, who passed away on February 4, 2023, at the age of 92, leaving to mourn family and friends. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Rachel A. Valdez to pay them a last tribute.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Elefio Salazar and Maria Antonia Salazar; her siblings, Amada "Agnes" Medina, Alice Valdez, Virginia Aurelia Martinez, Isauro Salazar and Elefio Salazar Jr.; and her great grandchildren, Eric Valdez, Michael Valdez, AJ Fraga, Clint Valdez, Tommy Espinoza, Derrick Espinoza, Daniel Espinoza, Kai Valdez and Tyrece Holbrook.
She is survived by: her husband Alfonso Valdez; her children, Jose Glenn Valdez (Teri), Wilber Valdez (late Dolores), John Valdez (Karen), Tom Valdez and Norma Valdez; and her siblings, Eloy Salazar (Annie), Angie Valdez and Patsy Montoya. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson.
