He was predeceased by: his parents, Jose O. Chavez and Rosabell Chavez; and his siblings, Eloy Chavez and Irene Valdez. He is survived by: his children, Trudy C. Herrera (David) of Alamosa, CO, Eileen Chavez and Francisco R. "Kiko" Chavez (Francesca) of Las Vegas, NM; his grandchildren, Noah, Joel, Mallorie, Emma, Zane and Elias; his siblings, Sam Chavez (Martha) of Holman, NM and Grace Ortega (Dan) of Amarillo, TX; and the mother of his children Angela "Dini" Garduño of Thornton, CO. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
