It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Jesus D. Armendarez Sr. of Carlsbad, New Mexico, born in Shafter, Texas, who passed away on August 7, 2023, at the age of 83, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Jose Armendarez and Esperanza Armendarez (Deanda); his wife Virginia Armendarez; his sons, Jerry and Jason Armendarez; and his siblings, Chon, Victor, Jose Armendarez, Jr., Juana Calderon and Zenaida Armendarez.
He is survived by: his close friend Julieta Morales; his children, Vivian Valdez, Jackie Armendarez (Alva), Viola Gutierrez (Fermin), Jesus "Bontz" Armendarez, Jr. and Vanessa Torres (Rudy); his siblings, Nicholas Armendarez, Sr. (Yvonne), Maria Dobson (George), Gloria Williams, Nati Saiz (Nick) and Christy Castillo; and also, Dolly Morales and Jairo Morales. He is also survived by 28 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren.
