She was predeceased by: her father James R. Nelson; and her son James LaPollo. She is survived by: her mother Barbara Nelson (Wurst); her children, Rachel M. LaPollo, Jason LaPollo and Kyle Richardson; and her sister Lisa Falkenstein. She is also survived by many grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
