She was predeceased by: her parents, John LaPorta and Anastasia LaPorta; and her husband Simon Barends. She is survived by: her pet Zana; her children, Lisa Wahler (Frank), Brian Barends (Sharon) and Mark Barends; her siblings, Frank Laporta, John Laporta Jr., Elaine Burd and Kathy Devoto; and her grandsons, Justin and Daniel Barends.
