He was predeceased by: his parents, Vuong Nguyen and Da Nguyen. He is survived by: his wife Christine Nguyen; and his children, Dr. Daniel Nguyen (Amanda Pineiro) and Dr. Victoria Nguyen. He is also survived by eight siblings, as well as numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and in-laws.
