He was predeceased by: his parents, Ulysses Smith of New York and Billie Smith; and his brother Ulysses Smith (Smitty). He is survived by: his wife Lydia F. Santiago-Smith; his daughter Oniekie Smith; the mother of his child Linda Smith; his sisters, Elizabeth English and Cheryl Thompson (Dennis); his nieces and nephews, Tamika Teague (Eugene), Ebony Smith, Aniya Broughton, Alaysia Thompson, Harmonee Thompson, Javon Thompson, Omar Thompson, Kareem Thompson (Faith), EJ Teague and Zion Teague; and his close friend Anna Ward. He is also survived by caretaker; A host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
