She was predeceased by: her parents, Beatrice H. Carter, (Winchester) and Ivory W. Carter, Sr.; her husband William R. Denby; and her siblings, Mary Lewis, Beatrice Parker, Hazel Moore, Francis Gross, Octavia, Roland, Ivory and Arthur Carter.

She is survived by: her brothers, Robert (Minnie Carter) and Sharpie (Doreen Carter).
