She was predeceased by: her parents, Col. Domingo Otero and Eugenia Otero; her husband Rev. Guillermo Mendez; her daughter Elizabeth Jones; her grandson Izaiah Jones; and her siblings, Carmen I. Otero, Jose L. Otero, Domingo Otero, Miguel Otero and Aracelis Otero-Adams.
She is survived by: her children, William H. Mendez (Francisco) of San Fransisco, CA, Esther "Tati" Mendez (Wilton) of Vineland, NJ and Deborah Boyd (Carnell) of Millville, NJ.; her grandchildren, Ashley Haddix (Nestor), Meghan Mendez-Brooks (Jalal), Timothy Jones (Betzy) and Jeremiah Boyd; her great grandchildren, Matthew, Caleb and Mason; her siblings, Mary Muñoz of Florida and George Otero of Bridgeton, NJ; her niece Amber; and her nephews, Aaron and Lucas. She is also survived by her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren.
