With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Joseph Burnette (Trenton, New Jersey), born in Warrenton, North Carolina, who passed away on May 16, 2018. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Rufus Burnette and Cleo Cheek Burnette; and his wife Geuqlyn (Gege). He is survived by: his children, Daryl, Brian, Carla and Yolonda (Renee); his sisters, Mary Stanford and Ruby Burnette; his siblings-in-law, Sheila Johnson (Fred), Natalie Caruth, Selena Johnson, Elroy Johnson and Jeffrey Johnson; and his close friends, Allen McKenzie, Larry Upshur and Saint Phillips. He is also survived by eight grandchildren; four great- grandchildren.
