She was predeceased by: her parents, John Dowdy and Lucinda Dowdy; her husband Grover Vereen; and her sister Eleanor Jean Thompson. She is survived by: her children, Esther Proctor and Robert M. Proctor Jr. (Deneen); and her siblings-in-law, Dorothy Proctor, Starlene Bellamy, Flora Livingston and William Vereen. She is also survived by one granddaughter; seven grandsons,; a host of great-grandchildren.
