He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Joan Astarita; his children, Judith Onderko (Russell), Linda Norell and Keith Eckhardt (Christine); his grandchildren, Jeffrey (Flynn), Daniel (Autumn), Allison (Daniel), Andrew, Emily and Tyler; and his great grandchild Katie.

In leu of flowers, donations can be made in Louis's name to the Tunnel to Towers Foundation or the Wounded Warriors Foundation.
