He was predeceased by: his parents, Amelia Dempsey and William H. Dempsey Sr.. He is survived by: his wife Eleanor G. Dempsey; his sister Joan VanDerBeck; and his children, Dale Brandt (Tom) and William H. "Chip" Dempsey III (Hope). He is also survived by 4 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
