She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Quintin Mercer and Dorothy Thorsen; her brother Stewart Mercer; her husband Dennis Smyth; her children, Doreen Smyth, Kathleen Smyth (Nick Kosarych), Laure (Bill Ulichney), Denise (Carl Bettinger), Kerry Smyth (Christine) and Tim Smyth; her granddaughters, Molly McPherson (Josh Zosky) and Brenna George (Anthony); her great grandchildren, Bryson George and Maura McZosky; and her sisters, Judith Gingras, Linda Thorsen and Diane Toomey. She was also cherished by numerous nieces and nephews.
