He is survived by: his wife Margarita; his siblings, Alejandro Shimabukuro (Koe), Elena Nakamo (Mioko), Carmen Barrios (Yemi), Julia Oshiro (Nae), Emma Shimabukuro (Masa) and Norma Moromisato (Akiko); his sons, Miguel, David, Hiroshi, Masaki and Hiroshito; his grandchildren, Ashley, Kelly, Samantha and Michael; his great grandchild Kallie; and his pet Chulo. He is also survived by his many nieces and nephews.
