He was predeceased by: his wife Dolores Fertsch (Nardone); his parents, Joseph B. Fertsch and Anne C. Fertsch; and his sister Frances. He is survived by: his sons, Joseph T. Fertsch (Ellen Firth) of St. Augustine, FL and Robert Fertsch (Cindy Christy); his grandchildren, James, Holly, Sarah, Dominic, Sophia Fertsch, Jamie and Emily Firth; and his brother Michael Fertsch of California. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews and his dear friends.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a local autism organization such as Faces4autism or Heart of Surfing.
