He was loved and cherished by many people including: his son Udaya Tholkamudalige; his wife Soma Tholkamudalige; his children, Kanchana Tholkamudalige (Sumithra) and Nayana Tholkamudalige (Pasan); his daughter-in-law Geethanjali Tholkamudalige; his grandchildren, Dilini (Shavinda), Lahiru, Kusal, Sanka, Gayani, Dilu and Hemanga; and his great grandchild Shayden.
