It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Margaret Mary Merli (Lyndhurst, New Jersey), who passed away on February 17, 2021, at the age of 97, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Joseph Malone and Elizabeth; her husband Frank Merli; her siblings, Betty, Joseph, Joan and Thomas; her sister-in-law Rita Desiderio; her sons, Thomas and Peter; and her grandchildren, Dawn and Brian Letsche.
She is survived by: her children, Joseph (Janet), Peggy Letsche (Dennis), John (Claudia), Mary Sujkowski (Mark), James (Sandra), Frank (Kim) and Robert (Lucy); her daughters-in-law, Jane Merli (Robie) and Janice Merli (Doonan); her siblings, Jack Malone and Agnes Crosson; and her sisters-in-law, Ann, Trudy and Dolores Malone. She is also survived by her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
As a devout Catholic, she was a member of St. Mary Church in Rutherford and prior to the coronavirus pandemic, she never missed 10:30 Mass on Sundays or any religious holiday.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make donations to the New Jersey State Organization of Cystic Fibrosis or Valley Hospice.
