Margherita DeCandia Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Margherita DeCandia of Jersey City, New Jersey, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on February 26, 2025 at the age of 90. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was loved and cherished by many people including: her children, Eleanor Noel (Bruce), Mark DeCandia (Leslie), Frank DeCandia, Robert DeCandia, Madeline Brennan (late John) and Peter DeCandia (Michelle); her grandchildren, Evan Noel (Erin), Laura Ferraro (Stephen), Andrea Noel, Brittany Folland (Thomas), Hayley DeCandia, Skylar DeCandia, Anthony Scocco, Parker DeCandia and Allie DeCandia; her great grandchildren, Amelia, Cecilia, James and Lily Belle; her husband Pietro DeCandia; her parents, Ignazio Salvemini and Maddalena Salvemini; and her siblings, Carmine, Corrado, Michael and Saverio Salvemini. She was also cherished by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 1st 2025 from 8:30 AM to 9:30 AM at the Riotto Funeral Home & Cremation (3205 John F. Kennedy Blvd, Jersey City, NJ 07306). A funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, March 1st 2025 at 10:00 AM at the St. Paul of the Cross Church (156 Hancock Ave, Jersey City, NJ 07307). An entombment will be held on Saturday, March 1st 2025 at 11:45 AM at the Madonna Cemetery (2070 Hoefleys Ln, Fort Lee, NJ 07024).
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Margherita's name to St. Jude's Children's Hospital at http://www.stjude.org, honoring her lifelong love for children and her compassionate spirit.
