He was predeceased by: his parents, Jose and Isaurinda. He is survived by: his wife Judite M. Costa; his children, Daniel Alves (Liliana) and Zelia Alves (Rolando); his grandchildren, Miguel, David, Daniel and Cristiano; and his siblings, Arlindo (Idalina), Valdemar (Cremilde), Esmeraldina (Simao) and Fernando Alves (Leocalia). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews, and cousins.
