She was predeceased by: her parents, John H. Schmid and June A. Schmid; and her brother Jay C. Schmid. She is survived by: her husband Charles A. Smith, Jr.; her son Patrick F. Purcell (Nicole); her stepdaughter April Samuelson; her siblings, John D. Schmid and June C. Wright; and her grandchildren, Leela F. J. Purcell and Christopher D. Bailey.
