With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Edward J. Mitana of Gibbstown, New Jersey, born in Camden, New Jersey, who passed away on September 30, 2023 at the age of 92. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his wife Antoinette Mitana (Toni). He is survived by: his children, Edward II of Gibbstown and Janet Vellutato (John) of Lewisville; his sister Elaine Duca of Gibbstown; his grandchildren, John Jr., Kyle Vellutato, Gary Funk, Eric, Stephen and Matthew Mitana; and his great grandchildren, Emily, Ethan, Gabe, Matthew, Jace, Lizabelle, Harper and Taylor.

“To Ed Jr. and Janet, I am so sorry for the passing of your beloved father. At many coffee & breakfast get togethers I had the opportunity to get to know Ed. He was: a patriot who served in the Navy, a worker who always provided for his family, a school crossing guard protecting young children, and a fair man who was unafraid to eloquently give his opinion on issues. But most importantly, Ed loved his children and their families unconditionally. Ed will be truly missed. Ray Cipolla”
