He was predeceased by: his brother Donald B. Johns Jr.. He is survived by: his wife Clare; his sons, William (Jennifer) and Robert (Diane); and his grandchildren, William Jr., Thomas, Mitchell, Erin, Jessica, Lauren and Gavin. He is also survived by his sister.

“Clare, Carole and family. I am so saddened to hear of Bill's passing. It has been a long time since we have seen each other but my memories of growing up together are filled with love and caring. As a kid he always looked out for me and came to my "rescue" when needed. His loving, caring eyes always filled with a twinkle. Please know I care and am sending sincere sympathy to you all.
