He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Henry Hiemstra and Helen Hiemstra; his wife Dorla Hiemstra of Franklin Lakes; his children, Cheryl Grieco (Tom) of Mahwah, NJ, Darlene Shotmeyer (Chuck) of Franklin Lakes, NJ and Kenneth Hiemstra, Jr. (Kimberly) of Pittstown, NJ.; and his grandchildren, Alyssa Grieco Boucher, Andrew Grieco, Jacob Shotmeyer, Jenna Shotmeyer Heinrich, Cara Shotmeyer, Heather Hiemstra and Nicole Hiemstra.

“dear dorla and family so sad to hear of ken's passing. when we lived in franklin lakes he spent time with my husband george talking about hunting and fishing. my daughter gina took riding lessons from cheryl when she was young and she went to woodside ave.school with young kenny. ken was a good friend to our family. we did not see much of him for a long time since we had moved to south jersey. george has been gone for seven years.
