Gwendolyn Jones Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Gwendolyn Jones of Florence, New Jersey, who passed away on October 11, 2021, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, John William and Kathleen Howsam Ellmore; her siblings, Betty, Peg and Joan; and her nephew Brian.

She is survived by: her nieces and nephews, Jennifer, Mati Reinfeldt, Diana and Jim Kerstetter. She is also survived by several great nieces and great nephews, her extended family.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to the Garden State Storytellers League c/o Carol Satz, 47 Burholme Drive, Hamilton, New Jersey 08691 or to Samaritan Hospice, 3906 Church Road, Mount Laurel, New Jersey 08054 or to the Florence United Methodist Church, 209 Broad Street, Florence, New Jersey 08518 or a charity of the donor's choice.

“Professor Jones was my JPE professor at Trenton State College in the 1980s. She was an absolutely amazing educator and an inspirational teacher. So often, during my 30+ years as a teacher, have I looked back on her teachings and used them with my students. We have corresponded with an annual Christmas card. I am so sorry to hear of her passing. My she Rest In Peace.”
