With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Phyllis Zakim (Fair Lawn, New Jersey), born in Paterson, New Jersey, who passed away on December 29, 2020. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her husband Gerald; her son Lenny; and her grandson Jonathan. She is survived by: her children, Stuart Zakim, Elayna, David Kirschtel, Joyce Zakim and Peter Greenspan; her grandchildren, Josh, Grace Zakim, Deena Zakim, Jesse Chebot, Shari, Phillip Zakim-Yacouby, Andrew, Joanna Zakim, Alex Zakim, Aaron, Michal Kirschtel, Jason Kirschtel and Naomi Kirschtel; and her great grandchildren, Lev, Leo and Lyla.
Musicals were her favorite form of Broadway shows as well as movies. And to say nothing of Frank Sinatra, Barbara Streisand and Tony Bennett. Due to the pandemic, funeral services will be private.
