With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Shirley A. Houston (Delaware, New Jersey), born in Charlottesville, Virginia, who passed away on October 11, 2020 at the age of 86. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Taus Murray and Loualice Murray; and her siblings, Florine Farrar, Samuel and Taus Edward Murray.
She is survived by: her husband Maurice Houston; her daughters, Detra Farmer (Brian) and Valerie Houston; her grandchildren, Antoine Carter, Jamar Houston and Auguste Thomas; her great grandchildren, Morgan, Antoine and Ayden Carter; her siblings-in-law, Wilbert Trusgo Farrar, Jr. and Lola LeCounte; her friends, Artenas Beaman, Sylvia Whittaker and Rev. Bessie Walker; and her nieces, Audrey Nore and Cheryl Black. She is also survived by other nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, cousins and friends.
