He was predeceased by: his son Alfred D. Hess. He is survived by: his wife Irene Hess (Welenc); his sons, Steven (Amanda Hess) and Matthew (Sherri Hess); his daughter-in-law Susan Hess; his grandchildren, Alfred E., Kristen (Nick Deen) and Isaac (Samantha); and also Ed Stern.
