He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Bette Lou "Belle" Koblentz (Daley); his parents, Harriet L. Steffes (Stickle) and Ronald L. Koblentz; his child Lili C. Koblentz; his siblings, Donald Koblentz (Ellen), Mark Koblentz (Bunni) of California and Mary K. Ward (John) of Texas; his siblings-in-law, Thomas M. Daley of Pennsylvania, John M. Daley of Georgia and Robin D. Elder (James) of Pennsylvania; his nephew Craig J Myers of Delaware; his niece Michele D. Allen (Brian) of Connecticut; his great-nephew Drew; and his great-niece Shannon Allen.

He stated the Monmouth Chess School and Club more than 12 years ago, and moved to Zoom classes and tournaments during COVID years.
