He was predeceased by: his parents, Alice Fowles and James Wolf; his wife Barbara J. Fowles; and his sister Lila Reese. He is survived by: his children, James R. Fowles, Jr. (Denise), Steven J. Fowles (Amy) and Candi Wildey; his grandchildren, Kurtis Fowles, Taylor Fowles Archer (Greg), Tiffany Fowles and Tatum Fowles; and his brother Ted Fowles.
