She was predeceased by: her parents, Edgar S. McPherson and Verna Beatrice McPherson (Murphy); her husband Clarence William Shifflett; her son Edgar W. McPherson; and her brothers, Frank, Robert and Edward Buck McPherson.
She is survived by: her children, Sidney "Rocky" Chase (Donna), Cape May, Cheryl Power (William), Clarence "Lanny" McPherson (Peggy) and David McPherson of Moriarity, NM; and her siblings, Richard McPherson and Sheila "Kate" McPherson. She is also survived by 21 grandchildren; 31 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
The family would prefer contributions to Animal Outreach of Cape May County in memory of Verna and her love for animals.
