He was predeceased by: his wife Joan; his son Joe Bakanowsky; and his siblings, Phil Bakanowsky and Monica Veblin. He is survived by: his children, Karen Buckingham (Layne Russell Buckingham) and Mark Bakanowsky. He is also survived by 9 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
