He was predeceased by: his father Alfred Panella. He is survived by: his children, Joseph C. Panella II (Caroline), Daniel J. Panella and Katherine Panella (Travis Fields); his grandsons, Gabriel Joseph and Christian Stephen; his mother Gertrude Chernesky Panella; and his sisters, Natalie Ambrose (Robert) and Eileen Despotakis (Billy).
