He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Smith and Rose Smith; and his sister Doris McCann. He is survived by: his siblings, Marie Griffin (Jeff), Joe Smith (Sharon), John Smith (Gail), Joann Primavera (Keith) and Beverly Smith; and his brother-in-law John McCann. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
