Anna Scuderi Obituary
Anna (Abate) Scuderi 82, wife of the late Roy P. "Sonny" Scuderi, of Derry, NH, formerly of Gloucester, MA passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 6, 2022, at her residence surrounded by her loving family.
She was born in Marsala, Sicily, Italy on June 16, 1939, daughter of the late Joseph and Francesca (Abitabile) Abate.
Anna worked for many years as a seamstress at Mighty Mac, Jacqueline Designs, Northeast Cleaners and later enjoyed working for Nuccia's Tailoring. She also worked for Gorton's of Gloucester. She took pride in making clothing for her children and doing alterations for family and friends. Cooking was her passion, and she loved making her homemade Italian bread, pasta, meatballs, and cookies. She loved gardening, planting flowers, tomatoes, and zucchini. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her, especially her children and grandchildren.
She is survived by her loving daughter, Joanna Scuderi-Goldthwaite of NH, and son-in-law, William "Bill", of Boston; her loving son, Paul Scuderi of Gloucester; her grandchildren, Zachary Goldthwaite, Zoe Goldthwaite, Ariana Scuderi and Tyler Scuderi; her sister-in-law, Josephine (Lentini) Scuderi, and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces, cousins, and godchildren, as well as her cat Kimbal.
She was predeceased by her daughter-in-law, Lea (Militello) Scuderi; sister, Rosa Busterna; sisters-in-law, Rose (Scuderi) Bertolino, Catherine (Scuderi) Lentini; brothers-in-law, Antonino Bertolino, Michael Lentini, and Vincent Scuderi; her aunt, Sarina Barbara; nephew, Paul Scuderi and niece, Barbara Bertolino.
A visitation will be held prior to the Mass in the Greely Funeral Home, 212 Washington Street, Gloucester on Monday, April 11, 2022, from 10 to 11:30 a.m.
Her funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Ann's Church, Holy Family Parish, Pleasant Street, Gloucester on Monday at 12:00 noon. All attendees are required to wear face covering during the Mass. Burial will be held in Calvary Cemetery, Gloucester.
In lieu of flowers, contribution may be made in her name to St. Jude Parish, 435 Mammoth Road, Londonderry, NH 03053 or to a charity of one's choice.
