He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank Shafer and Laura Shafer (Sailors); and his siblings, Jeannine Hanika (Gene), Karen Painovich (Nick), Delman Shafer and James Garland Shafer.
He is survived by: his sister Reva Marquez (Eugene) of Shubert, NE; and his sister-in-law Connie Shafer of Auburn, NE. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
