He was predeceased by: his grandparents, Lorin, Nancy Schmidt, Charles and Mildred Gordon; and his father-in-law David Grof.

He is survived by: his children, Adelynn and Ezra; his wife Samantha; his mother Debra Baehr (Schmidt); his stepfather Jack Baehr of Tecumseh; his father Bruce Gordon of Tecumseh; his siblings, Brian Gordon (Nikki) of Elk Creek, Casey Gordon (Kristen) of Tecumseh, Dan Gordon (Lindsay) of Waterloo and Kellie Gordon of Lincoln; his stepsiblings, Kris Baehr of Syracuse and Kim Stahl (Pat) of Pawnee City; his mother-in-law Shari Grof of Tecumseh; and his siblings-in-law, Heidi Beltz (Jay) of Norfolk, Aimee Daily of New Mexico, Tara Higby (Josh "Smooth" Higby) of Sutton, Taina Grof of Lincoln, Jesse Grof (Rachelle) of Tecumseh and Matt Grof of Sterling. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
