With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Joan Yates of Tecumseh, Nebraska, who passed away on April 11, 2023 at the age of 83. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Charles R. Gardner and Mildred Gardner (Van Winkle); her husband Jack Yates; her son Jack Jr.; her great grandchild Phoenix Dobbins; her daughter Cindy Bowersmith; her siblings, Butch Gardner and Charlene Bryant; and her brothers-in-law, Ronald and Dennis Yates.

She is survived by: her children, Lawrence Yates of Tecumseh, Jim Yates of Tecumseh, Christopher Yates of Tecumseh and Sheila Yates-Vuu (Thang) of Lincoln; her son-in-law Dale Bowersmith of Nebraska City; her grandchildren, Billie Trueax, Elizabeth Yates, Claudia Williams, Amanda Hobbs (Josh), Brian Vuu, Natasha Dobbins (James), Jessie Boeche (Andrew) and Brandon Mills (Ashley); her great grandchildren, Trinity, A'Lexus, Mason, Asher, Jimmy, Beckett, Emery, Levi, Mackenzie and Jaq; her brother Eugene Gardner (Sheryl) of Cook; her siblings-in-law, Garland Yates (Evelyn) of Tecumseh, Terry Yates (Sharon) of Cedar Bluffs, Linda Ramsey of Firth, Fern Crom of El Dorado, CO, Betty Yates of Columbus, Mary Jo, Sue and Donna; and also, Ronnie Uchytil, Noemi Sahs and Ron Boden. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends.
