He was predeceased by: his parents, Joe Kopecky and Agnes Kopecky (Vomacka); his wife Rose Engelhaupt; his siblings, Dee Havranek and Leonard Kopecky; his brother-in-law Jerry Hamilton; his niece Lori Bentz; and his nephew Steve Cizek.
He is survived by: his children, Debra Kopecky of Spencer, Kevin Kopecky (Farrell) of Savannah, JoAnn VanBuren of O'Neill and Terry Kopecky (Angie) of Malcolm, Nebraska; and his siblings, Darlene Cizek (Don) of Spencer, Ron Kopecky (Karen) of Ozark and RayLynn (Jeanette) of O'Neill, Nebraska.. He is also survived by nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren.
