Eva Sue Funkhouser was born on February 06, 1940, in Osceola, Iowa to Fred and Helen Butcher. Eva was raised in Peru, Iowa along with her 9 sisters and brothers, she had a twin sister Iva.
They were all very close, only a few fights and a lot of making up and memories.
Eva met the love of her life Richard when she was in high school. They met at the Peru Bar and Restaurant and later got married in Lawton, Oklahoma on July 3, 1958. Richard passed away on February 18, 2019. From their union, Eva and Richard had 3 children: Sandi, Clifford and Steven. Eva was a faithful, loyal and loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great-great grandmother.
Mom loved to cook and through her and dad's adventures they owned and operated restaurants, you would find mom either cooking or waiting tables. You could find her making homemade pies, bread, candy and cookies. She loved making people happy. Mom also cooked in nursing homes, mom and dad also loved to travel with their many campers, you could find them fishing, boating (which would make her sick, but she would do it to make everyone happy), antique shopping, collecting thimbles, Mom loved to make quilts she made sure everyone would have one.
Eva then moved to Sidney after Richard passed away, she met some very special women that also loved to just take off and go to a casino. She would always call and tell her kids not to worry, she left early in the morning and they were off to gamble. She promises not to spend all our inherited money we would just laugh and tell her to have fun.
Eva liked to have fun and enjoy life, she asked if all her family would do the same, forget work for a while and take time to enjoy life. Life is way too short. In mom's final days she told us not to worry when she crossed over, she would be dancing all the way, I am sure she is still dancing with dad to this day.
Eva was proceeded in death by her husband Richard, her parents Fred and Helen, her 8 brothers and sisters: Darrell, Jackie, Bobby, Donald, Marie, Logan, Sally and her twin sister Iva and a great granddaughter Paizlee Mae Deeds.
Survivors include a daughter: Sandi (Dave) Tuell, and 2 sons: Clifford (Trudy) Funkhouser, Steven (Brandi) Funkhouser, 1 Sister: Mary (CJ) Anderson, 4 grandchildren: Craig Deeds, Shaun (Sarah) Deeds, Mikki Deeds and Kristin (Jeremy) Sherin, 12 Great grandchildren: Jasmine (Lee), Blaine, Hannah, Karter, Brooklyn, McKynna, Kaydin, Kollins, Kaizlee, Koleman, Delaney and Lillian, and 1 very special Great-Great-grandson: Brexten Lee, as well as numerous extended families.
The family would like to thank all the people that helped mom during this time, your kindness.
