She was predeceased by: her parents, Edward C. Allen and Helen Allen (Vopalensky); and her son Russell (Benedict). She is survived by: her husband Benedict Vandenberg; and her children, Claudia Yindrick (Don) of Brainard and Dr. Edward Vandenberg (Marie) of Omaha.
