He was predeceased by: his parents, Russell DeWitt and Ghita DeWitt; his sister Elenor Vendetti (Pat); his brothers-in-law, Max Dykes, Elton Wiedner and Dave Hatch; and his grandchild Bridgette Reynolds.
He is survived by: his wife Bonnie Joyce Smith of Hay Springs; his children, Penny (Donald Cave) of Stuart, IA, Pam (Joel Burbach) of Rushville, Chuck Jr. (Kristi DeWitt) of Grand Island, Suzi (Brett Reynolds) of Des Moines, IA, Casey (Trisha DeWitt) of Box Butte, SD and Patty DeWitt (Aaron Vallete) of Greenfield, IA.; and his brother Richard DeWitt (Chris) of Omaha.
