He was predeceased by: his parents, James Karaus and Mary Margaret Karaus (Thomas); and his brother Mick Karaus. He is survived by: his sons, Steve Karaus (Becky), Scott Karaus (Amanda), Mark Karaus (Lisa) and Jeff Karaus (Molly); his grandchildren, Ryan (Malia), Taylor, Dylan, James, Toni (Spencer), Samantha, Jace, Briley and Rowyn; his great grandchild Isabel; and his siblings, Arnie Karaus (Dave) and Cindy Karaus. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, other family members.
Visitation was held on Thursday, February 20th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Braman Mortuary (Millard Chapel) (6505 S 144th St, Omaha, NE 68137). A graveside service was held on Friday, February 21st 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Springfield Cemetery (14547 S 144th St, Springfield, NE 68059).
