He was predeceased by: his parents, John Edwin and Gertrude Eiben; his in-laws, Paul and Birdie Kelly; his former wife Janice; his daughters, Nancy Eiben, Mary Sanny and Bobbie Mixon; his grandson Jimmy Zavodney; and his siblings, Dwain (Marilyn Eiben), Norman Eiben, Jeanette (Bill Haskins), Alberta (Willard Lyons) and Thelma (Bob Johnson).

He is survived by: his wife Ruth; his children, Sandra Turley, Karen Brunghardt, Patty Tvrdy, Tim Eiben and Laure O'Doherty; his stepchildren, Ron Kelly (Carolyn), Jerry Kelly (Karolyn), Janet Ruhr (Paul) and Mark Kelly (LeAnn); his stepdaughter-in-law Nancy Kelly; his siblings, Lyle Eiben, Jerry Eiben and Shirley Johnson; and his stepsons, Robert Kelly and Stephen Kelly. He is also survived by many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held on Wednesday, November 13th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the St. Mary's Catholic Church (302 Chestnut St, Anita, IA 50020). A funeral Mass was held on Wednesday, November 13th 2024 from 11:00 AM to 11:45 AM at the same location. A reception was held on Wednesday, November 13th 2024 from 11:45 AM to 1:00 PM at the same location.
