With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Richard H. Cordes of Norfolk, Nebraska, who passed away on December 24, 2023 at the age of 89. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, George Cordes and Minnie Cordes (Rother); his wife Virgie Cordes; his brothers, Ronald Cordes and Donald Cordes; his brother-in-law Ronald Abboud; his in-laws, Loyal "Charley" and Irene Berney; and his brothers-in-law, Donald Berney and Galen Berney.
He is survived by: his friends, Carl and Dona Ondracek; his daughters, Dawn (Kenneth Miller), Ronnette (Alan Schneider), Carmen Potratz of Columbus, NE and Deirdra (Kirk French); his grandchildren, Jacqueline Leitschuck, Valerie Galvan, Daniel Stubblefield, Brandon Miller, Aleasha Potratz (Riley Logue, JR), Connor Weigel, Evan French (Mary Saeed), Eric French and Valaree Busse; his great grandchildren, Jonathan Leitschuck, Alyssa Leitschuck, Wyatt Lee, Shaylee Miller, Braden Galvan, Elias Stubblefield, Mikaela and Matt Proehl; his great great grandchildren, Addison, Noah, Knox Proehl and Jamie Reeves; his sister JoAnn Abboud of Fort Lauderdale, FL; his friend Betsy Kish of Omaha, NE; and his siblings-in-law, Jody Cordes of Prosser, NE, Joyce Berney of Wolbach, NE, LaVon Berney of Hastings, NE, Loyla, Ron Vogel of Davis, CA, Kathy and Chuck Houtby of Wolbach. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and friends.
