She was predeceased by: her parent Ottilia Sophia Volk (Wienck); her husband Charley Messerschmidt; and her siblings, Alfred Volk (Myrtle), Martin Volk (Mildred), Edwin Volk (Wilma), Arthur Volk (Kay) and Edna Borchers (Otto).
She is survived by: her stepson Chuck Messerschmidt (Maydelle) of Lexington; her grandchildren, Kelly Messerschmidt (Jane) of Oconomowoc and Carla Pfeifer (John) of Eagan; and her great grandchildren, Christopher Pfeifer of Minneapolis, Michael Pfeifer of Omaha and Daniel Pfeifer of Eagan. She is also survived by many other relatives and friends.
