She was predeceased by: her parents, Bernard Kotarski and Julia Kotarski; and her son James. She is survived by: her son Richard Novotny (Nancy) of Bushnell, NE; and her granddaughters, Heather Norberg, Natalie Elder, Sarah Heideman and Julie Madden. She is also survived by 12 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be given in Carol's memory to the family.
